Discernment through the writings of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and the book, The Divine Millieu.

This small group book study will meet Monday evenings in Lent at the home of Nancy Tunnessen.  In Teilhard de Chardin’s words:  “This little book….has sought to teach how to see God everywhere, to see him in all that is most hidden, most solid, and most ultimate in the world.”  The book is written for “the waverers;” people who struggle to reconcile modern truths with traditional church teachings.  The group begins on March 6 and is limited to 8 people.  Contact Nancy at ntunnessen@nc.rr.com to register or for more information.

Holy Week Labyrinth

The Chapel of the Cross will be one of the sponsoring congregations of the Holy Week Labyrinth at Binkley Baptist Church.  The labyrinth and prayer stations will be open Monday, April 10 – Friday April 14.  As a sponsoring congregation, members of our parish will help lay the 40’ X 40’ canvas labyrinth on Sunday evening (April 9), welcome walkers for several hours during the week and fold the canvas Friday afternoon.  The hand-painted labyrinth is a replica of the labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral and was created by the Resource Center for Women and Ministry in the South, Inc.   For more information about the labyrinth, go to http://www.rcwms.org/programs/labyrinth.html .  Hours for walking the labyrinth and invitations to a Children’s Walk, Quiet Walk and Workshops will be posted at a later date.

The Lord’s Prayer with David Jamieson-Drake

The Lord’s Prayer contains the core ideas of Jesus’s spirituality and how he wanted us to live. Some of those ideas have roots in the Hebrew Bible, and our understanding of his prayer can be enriched by appreciating that background.
