Confirmation

The sacrament of Confirmation is characterized by The Book of Common Prayer as “a mature public affirmation of faith and commitment to the responsibilities of Baptism” through receiving “the laying on of hands by the bishop.”

All Episcopalians, mature in their faith, are expected to be confirmed. Those who have been confirmed in another denomination can be received. A series of Inquirers Classes for adults and a course for youth (ninth grade and up) are offered yearly at the Chapel of the Cross. If interested, please contact one of the staff clergy.
