The fall barbecue is back, and this year it is a celebration of our wonderful parish family and the successful conclusion of our 2018 annual fund campaign.
Plan to join us on Wednesday, November 15, at 5:30 for a Chapel of the Cross tradition— roasted pig catered by the Filling Station of Robersonville, NC, in Martin County. The menu includes beans, slaw, macaroni and cheese, tea, and lemonade. And for dessert, delicious seasonal home-baked pies provided by our talented kitchen guild.
The highlight of the evening — besides the pig and the pies — will be finding out the results of ingathering Sunday on November 12, the final day of the annual campaign. If we make our $1.6 million goal, the vestry will be able to adopt an operating budget that focuses on those things that are important to the parish—youth ministry, Christian formation, campus ministry, worship and music, small group fellowship, and recognition of our staff. The draft budget also includes preventive maintenance of our physical plant, payment on our new building debt, and setting aside money for a rainy day. (Click here for a full description of the draft budget, The Work Your Pledge Will Do.)
Make your pledge, grab a Thankful Heart lapel or backpack pin, and get your tickets for the BBQ.
